Chocolates

In the production of Dietto chocolates saccharose has been replaced with maltitol. Maltitol is a sugar alcohol, which is obtained from natural source – corn starch.
Maltitol sweetened Dietto chocolates are tasty treats suitable for healthy people, diabetics, as well as those suffering from coeliac disease. They are safe for all these groups because they don't contain gluten. Fibre enriched bitter chocolate is excellent for consumers who have sweet tooth, but wish to be in shape or would like to lose weight.
Nutritional benefits of maltitol:
· Sweetness close to table sugar (saccharose) (Maltitol is in 90% as sweet as sugar)
· Lower caloric value when compared to sugar (2,1 cal/g compared with 4 cal/g of sugar)
· Reduces the risk of tooth decay. Maltitol is not metabolized by oral bacteria, which decomposing other sugars and starch release enamel damaging acids.
· Can be used by diabetics, because it is more slowly absorbed and doesn't increase glucose concentration in blood or insulin level,
· It has pre-biotic properties (stimulates digestion and produces butyric acid)
